2003 Chevrolet Malibu
Malibu 2003
I have a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu, V6 automatic. Currently, the gear shifting is very jerky especially when moving from a stop light. Is there anything that can be done about this without incurring big expense.
There is also a heating problem. The thermostat was changed recently. When the engine is cold and the car is started the heat gague indicator rises really quickly and goes upto two thirds of the dial before coming back down below the halfway mark. When the card is running there is good heat however when it is idling there is almost no heat. Also, on some occasions when the car is driving in stop-and-go traffic the heat gague starts to rise and would continue to rise till the fan is turned on to maximum. It then starts to come back to normal. The car has been taken to a service centre for this problem. They changed the thermostat but the problem is still there.
Any suggestions for the above two problems would be greatly appreciated.

things with and without wheels
You do know that this is a Mercedes related forum, yes?
Why did you post this in the Canada region ?
Your heating issue could be that it's low on coolant, and the shift issue could be low on transmission fluid.
