There's a reason the the CL is $100k and the CLS isn't. The cars aren't in the same category. Yes, the CLS is a sexy (it's almost feminine) 4-door family sedan; however, it's cramped and much less luxurious when compared to the CL.
The CL is a true high speed ultra-luxury cruise missle. It's a big dog car that says you've arrived.
The CLS is a car I'd buy for my mother because she thinks it's cute.
I don't understand the hype with the CLS, it drives more like a C-class than some of MB's premium cars it's price range. IMO, it's overpriced.
I've been chastised at the CLS forum for expressing my opinion (I called it an overpriced grocery getter and got tons of hate mail) The CLS is a fad car. Cars like the CL (and SL) are styling references.
I'll take the CL any day of the week over the CLS.
By the way, have you driven both cars?

Just ignore it Wildcat, I do. The CLS will get some looks because it is new, the CL gets looks because it is the cream of the crop, even after the CLS stops being new.

The CLS is a nice design... but I have driven both and there is no comparison. Anyone that thinks the CLS is comparable just has no experience with the cars. You can buy 3 CLS models for the price of one CL600 and there is a reason for it.
