Windshield Damage-'02 CL500

I have a slight chip from a stone in my windshield and was wondering if anyone has experience with having this glass repaired vs. replaced. The chip is about the size of a pencil eraser. If it can be repaired with virtually no signs of doing so and will hold up for many years, I would prefer that to replacement. I'm leary that replacement might result in other damage. Also, I'm told replacement will show up on carfax. Any first hand experience would be appreciated.

I had my windshield replaced with an OEM one. I am not sure if it would show up on Carfax or not, I should check. If you do replace it, although it is expensive...get the OEM. I think aftermarket was like 700...OEM 1100.

All of them, as much as I can...
The dealers here have 3rd party vendors

that are extremely capable. I had a virtual tear in the leather of my CLK that hey fixed and I couldn't tell. A glass chip should be a piece of cake; as long as it isn't the kind with a spider web. It's worth trying because if you replace, OEM is the only way to go due to the IR filtration built into the CL glass. It reduces the inside temps from UV and sunlight by 10 degrees. Except for a 6" X 9" area somewhere above the glove box (for EZpass and similar devices)
