Audio system dies in hot temps

When the temp gets over 90 the audio and command system goes dead on my new CL-500. I had the same problem with an 03 E-55. The electronics for the audio was mounted in the wheel well and failed in high temps. When it cooled of it worked again. MB admits now that was a failing in the model at the time. There was no fix. I sold that car.

Now my new CL-500 is doing the exact same thing. The dealership assures me it's not the same problem. But that's what they said about the E-55. Is history going to repeat itself? There is no mention of anyone else with this problem on any MB boards. Driving around in a 110k car listening to a battery powerd radio isn't going to cut it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

When I had a C class as a loaner....the radio actually would shut down if it got too hot in there...it seemed programmed to do that to prevent from maybe blowing fuses or damaging it. I have not had that problem with my CL.

Fixed. The software had to be reprogramed for hot weather.
