Why did you guys buy a CL?
Bottom line here: Is the Bentley a better car than the CL? Probably not. Would I kick one out of my garage? Nope. Is it worth the extra money? To me, on a good day, yes if I get seduced. I'm perfectly happy with my CL probably because I have the best of both worlds in my garage: CL500 and SL600. Why on earth do I need a Bentley? All the guys at work drool enough already. I don't feel the need to defend what I drive to a 17 year old child and another who probably has never driven a CL.
In the end, it's just a car that we enjoy driving every day. I'm headed back up to Arizona on the 11th and the SL will rest in the garage again. When the CL lease is up, I may buy a Vette or a Z8 or another CL. Every car satisfies a certain need.

---naaaaaaahhh
-----all kidding aside...........i bought my cl because it just felt right, kinda like a nice pair of shoes. i never tested a bentley, but my personal preference is the cl for looks, i know the bentley is a hot car, too, but the cl just "does it" for me. -- plus, i was REAL specific in finding the color combo i have. all cars depreciate ALOT--the amount cars depreciate in proportion to the income of the people buying them is pretty relevant, though. i personally would only get a new car(any kind) if i was going to lease it, cars always depreciate, but it seems the 1st owners always take the biggest hit. think about it, if the "average hhld " income for a new cl owner is 400k+/yr (according to MB), then50 or 60k depreciation, proportionally, is about the same as someone making 60k/yr, taking a 10k depreciation on any given car (i.e. toyota, hyundai, honda, ect), no?
All kidding aside, 25mpg at 80 with about 400 miles between gas stops is just really great. The hard part is stopping at night.

I'm 17 too, dad pays for all my crap, I just do the school work and do the computer work at the office and bank
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Great car overall. I paid $ 57,500 for mine. Used. It had only 17,000 miles.
It was a friend of mines car. He got a new one and wanted to move his.
He paid $93,000 new in Oct. 1999. Ouch.
I am getting ready to "trade up" to a CL55 or a CL600 soon.
By the end of the year. I hope to get about $ 47,000 for mine.
Bluebook is anywhere from $ 46-51K
It now has 40,000 miles. Extended Warranty, Lojack.
Its in perfect shape.
Why buy a car like this ?
1. You can really truly afford it. Cash.
No payments. No stress over its cost.
2. Your old enough to enjoy it truly.
3. Buying it Used. It is not that bad of a hit.
Driving it and enjoying it for a couple years. $ 10K
4. Its not that common of a Benz. It gets attention.
5. It is one of the best looking cars around.
6. It is a large and safe coupe. Not too big. Not too small.
7. It is a sleeper on the road. It surprises people by its speed
and handling. It will chew up all but the very elite on the road.
It has had a couple of issues. Blew a ABC pump.
Benz paid for that. Had a suspension "groan" in the front
that was fixed on the second attempt by Caliber Motors.
Eats tires every 20K miles. 17 MPG is a bit low.
But if you got the cash and want a really nice Benz.
CL500 is a great choice.

CL500 is a great choice.
Enough said, when I bought mine that was the situation. I personally got tired of people who much like you merzady boy, emphasis on boy, would say to me why don't you drive a big benz. When I was driving a brand new clk 500 loaded to the max and they were driving nice acura's or older bmw and benz. Personally the cl i s amazing and you do have to drive one to appreciate it. If you really want to sastisfy your inquiry why don't you earn enough lease or buy one and then and only then you will understand, kinda like a moment of clarity.
Well, Mr old fart leggs, emphasis on old fart, you shouldn't take offence from a boy asking a simple question, or should we. Ain't i just a boy??
Lord willing hopefully in the future you will be able to buy a cl to.
