Supercharging the V-12 platform

In theory & practicality, what problems are inheritantly experienced when trying to supercharge the '01-'02 CL V-12 platform other than cost?

If done via roots-type blower, if at all possible, all you would need is about 4-5 lbs of boost. Than again, you would need to address additional intake runners for 12 cylinders. Am I off base?

What about a centrifugal?

What about a turbo setup? If you are planning to run minimal amounts of boost, the stock engine should handle it. (If a Nissan V6 stock can handle 6 lbs of boost, then why can't a MB V12.) However, if you plan on putting excessive amounts of boost, then engine work is highly recommended. Or, just get an '03 600, which comes with two turbos stock. Sure, it will cost more, but reliability would be far greater since the turbos are OEM.

Mmmm, true. I was asking b/c typically there are not a lot of engine mod possibilities in comparison to the CL500/55 V8 platform.

If you could at least get a set of headers, I'd be highly satisfied (my target car has all the other possible modifications completed already).

I think an exhaust kit along with a PowerChip upgrade should give you good boost in power without going into the extremes.
