What does everyone think about this? Miles are high, but the car looks good, and the Carfax checks out.
Plus, the eBay feedback for this dealer is impeccable. Opinions appreciated.

Its certainly cheap... but you are taking a BIG risk. If you are buying this because you are on a budget, then think about what repairs may cost you. Be prepared for some heavy expenses. Try to see if you can get a warranty. If you can, then go for it. If you can't, then you are rolling the dice. Whatever warranty you find, talk to your dealer first and make sure they take it. If not, you have to find a company they do work with. Car looks clean otherwise. Have an MB dealer go through it before you buy. Be aware that its 68K now. Resale will be pretty low once you have another 20K on it. If you get a good warranty and have peace of mind, they you are driving around a lot of car for little cash.

Take it from me, I own an '01 600. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT buy any pre-owned without an extended warranty. The repairs will eat you alive and could easily exceed half the cost of what you're buying the car for. I will personally NEVER buy a pre-owned more than a year old and a few thousand miles; it's just not worth the headache in repairs + unless the car was detailed and super-pampered (never taking out in the rain, etc.), which I highly doubt a 60K+ mile car would be, you will NEVER get the factory paint back to its original luster no matter what. If I had to come out of pocket on my '01 since I've had it since 2003, I would be out $25,000 easy. Twelve-cylinder cars are not cheap to maintain, hence, the severe depreciation.
Also, realize that extended warranties DO NOT cover everything a factory Starmark warranty covers. In the long run, I feel it's better business to lease a new or CPO car with a Starmark warranty.

I was just killing time looking at Autotrader and found an '01 for $31,900 which means the dealer probably paid only $27,000-$28,000 for it.

Can you spell the car has 80,000 miles and a flood title? I ran the carfax on it. It is a salvage/flood car. You get what you pay for. Depreciation happens for a reason.
