Does anyone have the procedure for resetting the service reminder on a 2001 CL600? I understand that it can be done using the steering wheel buttons. Thanks in advance.

1. Turn key into position 1
2. Using the steering buttons to call up the odometer.
3. Then using the up/down arrows, call up the FSS indicator.
4. Press the "R" button on the instrument cluster for 2 seconds.
5. When prompted for a confirmation to reset, press "R" again.

You're done!!

Information can be found on page 149 of your user manual.

If I may ask--why would one want to reset the default of service reminder?

Mr. CL500,
Thank you so very much. I read through the entire manual when I purchased the car, but I don't know how I missed that one. There may be others here that missed it so thanks for the post!

Mr. Reynaldo,
I don't want to reset any defaults. I merely want to get rid of that annoying service reminder that comes up every time I start the engine. Or am I missing something? Will the procedure outlined above by CL500 reset some default setting that I don't know about? Thanks again,

My pleasure.

I assume you already had the vehicle serviced, but the facility that did the work never reset the service reminder. If you're doing your oil changes at independent shops, you'll need to reset the service reminder yourself. When done at an MB dealer, they'll reset it for you at the time the vehicle is serviced.
