Now, driving around town with a few runs with the turbos spooled is an entirely different story!
For comparison, the same trips to work in my 03' S55 were netting me 17-18mpg. Who would've thought the V12 would save gas?! I guess the V12TT version has the cylinder deactivation going though?

Yes, I was also very pleasantly surprised when my V12 was returning better mileage than my old V8 engined '97 BMW 840. The cylinder deactivation technology in the CL really works -- and more importantly, I love how it's imperceptible
BTW, next time you're making an approach into LAX, look down on your left and give me a wave. I'll be in the silver CL on the 105 fwy below you
Just don't drop any chunks of ice on me

Funny you mention the ice chunks....in Narita, Japan it is a requirement that you have to lower the landing gear about 20 miles out to prevent from dropping ice chunks on the farmers.
