Catalytic Converter woes............

Hello all! Brand spankin new to the forum. I am a 2002 GS430---> 2002 CL500 converted guy. Very impressive machine. Well my right cat is making a funny noise (rattling at idle), so I had Mercedes look at it while I was getting an oil change/ coolant flush. Confirmed it was the cat $1200. My question is can I do an aftermarket cat instead? If so any websites or anything? Thanks in advance ALL......................

By the way, I will post pics as soon as I learn how.

Cat should still be under warranty for 7/80K miles.

LUC-------I really can't compare the gs to my CL. I will try though. I knew the owner since he had the CL brand new. So the miles I didn't really worry about and the amount I paid was un heard of low. Maintenance seems to be similar in cost. I do not like the MB nav in comparison to the Lex. The MB is more comfortable and I am getting better gas mileage. Mark Levinson sound system is better than the Bose. Both cars are top of their game, but I am glad I made the switch to the Benz. I do miss the GS, but it was my forth so I wanted a change. I hope this helps.
