CL Star Grill Modification
I stopped by my local dealer today to pick up a oil filter and noticed they had a used 2001 CL500 on the lot they were trying to sell. What caught my eye about this CL was that the lettering (CL500) on the back was taken off (Shaved). it looked real nice and clean. Futhermore I noticed that the three pointed star on the grill was a SOLID unit. Has anyone seen a grill like this ? It was definetly an aftermarket pirece, however I have never seen this before. It didn't look bad, but the stock grill is definetly better looking.

I thought it was solid because of the Distronic feature. Do you have that feature on your CL55?
I'm thinking this because I saw an S class with Distronic and in the very center of the grill there was a solid strip about four inches wide. You wouldn't know it was solid until you got close though.
