farewell, all...

after careful consideration, I have traded my beloved CL. She now has 72k miles and I needed something sportier and under warranty(believe me on the latter) I picked up a 2004 BMW 645ci w/ 14k miles, BMW certified. It's been fun here and you all have been a great help when needed. Thanks.

good luck with the new bmw...it seems every week us w215 owners here are getting smaller and smaller...did you get anything decent on the trade in for the cl, maybe fair value?

Not really, but they did discount the bimmer deeply. $57,200 CPO, and 21k trade--- the miles on mine really killed it, I had other offers up to $24k, but not on CPO'd cars. It's amazing, about 5 months ago, I had 65k on the clock and a "used car" dealer offered me $30k. Their asking price was $63k, so you could say they gave $27k off their list. oh well

$21k is all we can get now!! the w215 has to be the best used car deal ever. i don't understand why a top of the line mb would depreciate that fast? but heck, that's why i am able to afford one but again, $21k if i am a mb mechanic, i would get one just for the price. it's cheaper than an accord!!! when the w216 start to show up on the streets, i can probably pick up a w215 and parts it out and make more money.

good luck as you move on, although both cars are coupes, you will

definitely miss the CL's ride. the 645's feel a little more rigid but the motor makes up for it. i myself went from a 2001 740iL sport to my current CL and i can honestly say that i DO miss the BMW breed of performance. it was a living hell without a warranty but i persevered for a year $$$.
p.s. www.roadfly.com's bmw forum is an extremely helpful owner's circle.

....no doubt, the looks are killer, but it's the electrical and suspension gremlins I need to get away from (to the tune of $6500 in 17 months- not warrantied )

I pick her up later today, I'll get some pics pretty soon... yeah, it's a GT coupe' "sporty", but probably not considered a true "sports car" (i.e. 'vette, 911, ect)
