i heard that people with 20"x10" wheels with 285 tires needed to roll their fenders. i think 305's might rub pretty bad. i have seen cls and sl with much wider wheels though.

They will fit and you WILL have to roll fenders...also your handling and ride quality will suffer because of the added un-sprung weight and thinner sidewall. This is based on my experience, others may have additional input.
I think Sander from The Wheel Supply said he had a guy come in with a CL who wanted the "biggest" and he set him up with 335's on the rear. Sander would know for sure.
If the streets you travel are well maintained and the rim choice is right it could be nice...don't forget to lower it a little. Post pics after you set it up!
