Does the ECU upgrade really help...

...non-supercharged/turbocharged MBZ's like mine?

What can N/A motor owners like me expect realistically from the upgrade?

I'm itch'n to do more mods...

Thanks,

OC kid

save your money bro

you will gain about 15 horses and in a car as heavy as ours, you'd be better off losing 15 lbs to see a real difference.

(Not that I've seen you or am I insinuating that you are fat)

Oh...

giggalo:

Thanks for the reply. No insinuation taken I thought the upgrade was only like 1200-1500 bucks

So, does the theory about little here and there adding up apply?

I thought with a little exhaust/header/air intake mod plus a little AMG cam action, I could compliment them with the ECU upgrade to add up to at least something substantial 30-60 hp???

Maybe I should just go back to my original idea and head over to Cerritos and have the boys throw on the NOS kit with 75 or 100 hp jets... There are so many places on this car that would make good hiding spots for a little 3 or 5 lb bottle...

Does anyone else have any feedback for the ECU upgrade or combined upgrades on the n/a motor?

Does anyone know what MBZ did to lighten the weight of the vehicle by some 600 lbs. for MY '05+???

Thanks,
OC kid

50-60hp

from air intake/headers/exhaust/ecu is pretty much impossible.

I had an 02 M5 with all those upgrades and barely saw 25 more ponies. the old saying goes, once you go unnaturally aspirated, you never go back. forget about the blower, turbos are the way to go. Besides, with all the abovementioned mods, your warrantee (if you still have) will go to ****.
