I don't think there is any specific mileage factor as to when they go out. I sure there are many out there that have never had any problems with the ABC system. If you do a search on this forum looking for ABC, you should find many threads on the subject.

Sorry to highjack this post, but I took my car into the dealer for a whining noise in the steering. They ended up replacing the "ABC Tandem Pump". Now my dumb question to the techies out there, is the "ABC Tandem Pump" the actual name for the "ABC Pump" that everyone here always referrs to? I didn't get any ABC warning messages either. What do the ABC components under the hood consist of?
Thanks!
Thanks!

ABC Pump
Thats the very bad sound every CL owner
needs to be on the look out for. It seems to happen
in the first 25K miles and the ABC fault idicator does not come on right away.
The ABC Pump.
It handles the "Active Body Control" hydraulic system.
That whining you heard is the pump impeller saying adios.
Other important ABC items are that large aluminum block with all the fittings
you see under the hood. Any fluid or spotting there are a NO NO.
