ABC Problem

Hey what's up fellas,

I'm currently suffering through the coldest winter to hit Chicago in years. Last night it was easily -30 with the windchill included. Brrr! Anyway, this morning when I started my car, it was fine, but when I started to drive it this is what came up on my dash, "ABC Drive Carefully!" I'm pretty familiar with ABC related problems, but I'm wondering if this something to worry about or is it something random that will go away. However, when I tried to raise the suspension, it would not allow me to do. Do I need to take it to the shop? Also, could it be because of the extreme cold? By the way, I looked up the problem in the owner's manual but I wasn't sure if it came under Category 1 or 2. Any advice would be appreciated--thank you in advance for your time.

Not sure about your problem with your ABC, but when it got to about 15 degrees here, my auto trunk mechanism wasnt working properly. Once it warmed up to regular temps, it worked properly again.

Last winter in Chicagoland I would have the same thing. My ABC pump failed afterward in the early spring, but I also believe that the cold weather can cause the belt to slip on startup. Seems to me that if the ABC pump can't build to a preset pressure due to the belt slipping, the error will come up.

I learned the whole belt slipping/ABC malfunction thing through a bit of mishandling of WD40.

I also have a theory that the cold weather screws up the ride height sensors a bit.
