CL 600 = 600 problems

Hey there,

It's me again. Anyway, something new popped up on my dash today. This time it read, "Brake Lining Wear Visit Workshop." Obviously my brakes need some work and/or need to be replaced. However, I looked up this problem in the operator's manual but it did not exactly mention brake lining. What do you all think it could be--pads, rotors, brake lines, et cetera? Also, how much of a hit should I expect at the shop? Thanks in advance for your time and expertise.

The text sounds clear enough. It's your pads.

when that light comes up you dont have too long or you risk chewing up your rotors. Replacement pads are very inexpensive, go to tirerack or oempartsdirect.com if you need rotors they aren't that bad either.

Thanks for the info E55Jay--appreciate someone helping me save some money. What do you think of Akebono Euroceramic pads instead of oem pads?

You have about 500 miles of normal driving. The sensors are positioned so you don't have to freak -- just make an appointment.
