"Real" horsepower of an '03-06 CL600
Does anyone know the real horsepower numbers of an '03-06 CL600? And 0-60? I've read that Corporate MB was a little conservative with the HP numbers and performance times that was released to the public. I just purchased an '03 last month and I can honestly say that I have never felt that type of "pin you to the seat" acceleration...everytime I press my right foot down I just get this uncontrollable grin....

I know that they are conservative with the numbers from MB, especially with the AMG cars as well as the 600s.
If you think that your car wil pin you to the seat now, having your ECU set up will make it even wilder!
One of our clients did a pre dyno, and he came up with 512hp (crank)...to answer your question

Thanks for the info. I'm looking into getting the ECU modified. There is such a variance in price. From around $2K-5K. Is it necessary to get the TCU modified as well or is it just icing on the cake? What I mean is, will I blow my transmission if I don't have the TCU reprogrammed?

04 CL600
I just got a 04 cl600 with Renntech ECU and TCU upgrade. I was told there were three settings for the transmission. How or where do I access these to change the settings?

Even though this really doesn't matter, when the Renntech ECU/TCU is programmed they add the "M" to the tranny menu. This is in addition to the standard "S" and "C". I feel as if the "M" is totally useless. The E55 cars have this as well.

The M mode is supposed to be for manual mode. It is no quicker at the track in M mode but it may serve some purpose at a road course. My mode button is on the console near the shift lever. My car is an '03 and I have never looked at an older S class interior. Only S and C mode are available stock. My TCU has been reprogrammed to give me the M mode.

This guy seemed to make a lot more than that:https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...highlight=dyno

I know. wonder what that was, although it is possible that it was dyno error. Is it true, though, that turbos have a hard time on the dyno?

I read that because the dyno can't simulate the flow of air, they are down on power more than other cars, because they obviously generate more heat than a N/A car. Whatever. just wondering.
