215 Updates?

Was there an update in '03 or '04 for the Cl500?
Is there leather on the dash and door handles/panel on a '03 & '04 CL500?
I looked at an '04 CL55 Friday and was wondering if a CL500 has the same interior, or is the full leather only for '55 & up?

Updates in terms of?

I believe all CLs had leather interior including the dashboard, door panels, etc.

If you're just talking about the leather pattern in the door panel, all CL500s had the same pattern from 00-06'.

The CL600/65 and all Designo Edition CLs had the "gathered" leather pattern throughout the years they were produced.

The CL600/65 also had the suede roof panel.

And both the AMG version of 55/65 had special AMG badging on the leather seats.

'03 CL500,& '18 GLS63. Gone: '83 500SEC,'99 500SL,'07GL450
2003 Cl500/cl55

Quoting from the 2003 MB sales booklet for both the CL500 and the CL55:

"Hand-fitted leather upholstery on seats, head restraints, dash, doors, armrests, steering wheel, and shift knob. In addition, on the CL600: AMG-design perforated leather in the seating areas."
Also, on the CL600 and the Designo editions "glove-soft Nappa leather" was used and "suede-like Alcantra" was used on the visors, foof pillars, and ceiling.

Watching the price fall on these CL65s, maybe so! Actually I just bought it last month for 44k and I love the car. If you are shopping, it will be hard to get to this info without seeing the car. My '04 CL55 has the suede roof, A-pillers, thick leather floormats, designo seats (so I am told, have not compared), and hand stitched leather dash and door panels. Pretty much almost everything you touch used to be an animal.

Northern California, a long way from Ohio! Although yes everything has a price, now that I have put on my Brabus wheels, dropped it an inch and got the front rotors and brakes redone ($1450) I'm ready to drive and enjoy this thing for a while, not sell it!
