Repair Manual
Does anyone know if there is a repair manual (cd's or whatever) for an '02 CL500. The only thing I know to be available is Alldata, which I found rather useless, and this MB site which is too expensive:

You want the WIS manual - the software that the dealers use. I have these but they come on CD's (or 1 dual layer DVD) and I live in the UK BUT check eBay cause they ALWAYS have them on there.
FYI : They advertise that they install on XP and VISTA but I have NEVER been able to get them running on those O\S - but it ALWAYS installs problem free on windows 2000. From eBay you always get install instructions as well.

Is this detailed how-to instructions and who produces the manual? Thanks for the input!

yes step by step guide - exactly what mercedes use. its distributed by merc themselves to all dealerships - but youll find ppl on ebay with copies that you can then install on your lappy etc.

Is it just for the CL? Do you have the product number or name to look for on EBAY? Thanks!

Its for all models up to the year version you buy - SO if you buy a version thats up to 2007 (latest) youll get all models Mercedes has done up to 2007.
goto eBay and in search just type MERCEDES WIS
I did on ebay.co.uk and found 7 items - all were the latest 2007 Daimler Chrysler WIS. Some also had the the full EPC (electronic parts catalogue) so that you get part numbers as well etc.
Ive had mine 3 years and used it on my CLK's, C32, CL and ML! its invaluable IMO.

One more thing, shanusanus, I found them on Ebay and the 4 set is about $65 US but they have a "best offer". Do you have a recommendation for the amount of offer. Also, this is for Mercedes Benz EWAnet EPC + WIS Set 4 DVD DL Latest 2007. This I assume has the parts catalog and the workshop manual for an '02 CL500 along with all other MB models up to '07. Is this correct. Many thanks!

$65 is about £30 - thats WAY too high.
check 220178262004 £15 or $30 - thats how much I paid
keep looking and youll find them much cheaper - especially as you dont need to go to model year 2007 - you can get an older set.
And EPC will cover up to the model year they state as well.

I've been contemplating on purchasing these. Please let us know your feedback once you install it. I hear the newer versions (2007) are really good as they re-did the application interface. Thanks!

I'll do it. Haven't received them yet after about 10 days, but seller advises 2-3 weeks as they are coming from Europe, I believe. Also, Christmas will probably add a few days. Supposedly, these are what the MB dealer techs use so I'm really looking forward to getting them.

Each of these files is quite comprehensive and it will take some time to get to to where I can move around quickly. There is a tutorial which they recommend reading (147 pages) that I think is a must read as moving around doesn't appear to be too user friendly. Anyway, I'm glad I got them and am sure they'll be beneficial. After all, this is what the MB dealers use.
BTW, the edition I got was 2005 and includes all MB vehicles produced up to this year. I paid $30 + $15 shipping on Ebay. They want $65 plus shipping for the '07 edition.

I got my DVD's for the Shop Manual and Parts Catalog and got them installed yesterday. I thought I'd have trouble loading them (my system is XP Pro, SP 2) as I had seen where some were saying they had a lot of trouble doing so. Anyway, I followed the directions and really had no problem. The size of the manual and the parts catalog are about 4 KB each although you don't need the full parts section. I just loaded the car section which totaled 1.5 KB's.

As I mentioned, I had no problems re installation but I followed the instructions to a tee. And just so you know, I'm no computer geek. If you have any problems, PM or email me and I'll see if I can help.

Glad you guys had no problems.
I got the 2007 version and can't get it installed for love or money!
I'm a little geeky but my daughter does this for a living and can't make it work. (Maybe because it's a car thing?)

Mine is the '05 version and installation went smoothly. However, you must follow the instructions to a tee. Do you know where you are getting hung up?
