Aftermarket Warranties??

There will be other ideas forthcoming, but I think one of the best things to do is to ask your local MB dealer. After all, they are the ones dealing with these companies.

I agree. Ask your Service Rep as to WHO is the easiest to work with in their experience. Reading the fine print in all of them will drive you crazy. With some cars, specific coverage is something else to look for - such as coverage for the supercharger on my wife's SL55.

I was in that same position a few months ago. Contacted a bunch of companies and was NOT satisfied. They seemed so shady with their business/sales practices. I then went to http://www.ripoffreport.com/ and that didn't help matters either. Also my dealer flat out told me that they didn't want to deal with aftermarket warranties. My SA gave me a bunch of horror stories and they made it dealer policy now. The terms were, I fork out the bill and get reimbursed by the warranty company.
In the end, I decided to wing it and not get a warranty after my Starmark expired. I figured I'd be more pissed after buying a warranty and not getting paid than not having a warranty and footing the bill for repairs myself.
My car had alot of items fixed when it was covered under warranty (including ABC pump), so I figured i'll just wing it. Then again, that just me.
If you decide to get a warranty, I agree with Jud, Check with your dealer. In the end, they're the ones that are going to deal with them.
