Parktronic Problems

Anyone encountered this? As soon as the car is started and shift selector is moved out of park, all parktronic sensors go crazy and start chiming. On all parktronic displays only the red indicators are lit, and the yellow indicators are not lit. The car is out of warranty . . . any advice?

that is NOT normal. If the red is lit only, you have a parktronic fault. Most likely a faulty sensor. The dealer's star diagnose system can tell you exactly which sensor is faulty.

Not normal at all.

Try cleaning the sensors with just some water and a cotton rag.

If the system makes noise and the red light is comming on.
Bad Sensor.

Yeah it was definitely not normal. If it would have gone away in two seconds I don't think I would have even posted. I went around the car with an old t-shirt and scrubbed all the sensors. Problem fixed. Weird, because I was really worried I would have another expensive problem but it looks like they were just dirty! Thanks for all the responses.

Last time my CL had parktronic issues was when it got clipped in a parking lot.
Someone backed into one of the sensors and it kind of popped out of the bumper. So when your parktronic "Freaks" at startup. Do a walk around right away.

Glad it was just dirt. You got lucky. Mine has eaten like 3 sensors in the 4 years I have had my CL500.
