CL500 supercharger
You're like some sicko who goes to another person's house, sits there and just takes craps everywhere.
That's where the smell comes from.

Go back to your corney BMW boards.
Since you asked, work wise most of my clients are either on parole on have been in the system for their entire life. You really sound awfully like a lot of them. Making physical threats, aggressive speeches, taking stabs and pokes just to prove that you're better than the other person.
I don't need to do this back and forth with you if you simply go away for good.

But, since you brought it up, that helps explain your thought process quite a bit as well. Maybe you should stop hanging out like your "parolee" buddies, you're beginning to act like them quite a bit.. As far as me taking pokes, look up and see who started the wise *** comments.. Don't project your inferiority complex on me..
Oh and one last thing, wtf cares where you spend your nights for the past 10 years and 5 year, etc, as for me I'ma go have a few drinks.. Enjoy your online squabling stinky..

I am raised to treat people with respect and to have a high level of intolerance for people who have attitude problems. First and foremost, you asked a question here as if you were my boss. A simple search on the forum or on the internet would've answered your question. If you're too lazy to do this, at least ask your question nicely.
I then suggested you to look either on Wikipedia or Google. I even took the time to type up my own explanation. Your smart *** follow up rhetorical question was completely unnecessary. The physical threats that you subsequently made further proved that you're probably just a kid or simply lack manner.
As a criminal defense attorney, I do my job correctly and mind you, I don't hold this true believer mentality that causes the system to penalize my Clients' interest simply because I want to play hero. Therefore, when I come across someone with personality problems, I tell him. If he happens to be my client, I do so to help him/her to keep quiet and exercise his/her 5th, not to hurt him.
You, on the other hand, are not my Client. And I don't owe anything to you. As a matter of fact, I dislike you because throughout your comments you seem to not want to admit or acknowledge the fact that you're sticking around for the sole reason that you're upset about being called on about your own lack of knowledge between what rwhp and crank hp is. Actually, you don't even have the ***** to man up that you gave the wrong answer/information, either.
The bottom line is, this is my thread. You need to leave here if you are not happy with what's being said. I don't care if you go hang yourself or what not, just leave.
I am glad that I was not the one making multiple 18' AMG wheels for sale and you weren't the one being blame for it. Or else you probably would've crapped on every single one of my thread like you did today.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
You and I are in the same spot right now. I really want more power but it seems very hard and expensive to get it from our cars. I regularly go to a Kleeman shop by my house and it seems they are the best route, albeit expensive. Have you considered getting a Quaife differential put in? I am going to do that in the spring. It will eliminate the open differential the car comes with which robs horsepower at the rear wheels. I considered an ECU upgrade but was told it would yield negligible results...too much cash for too little performance. I am also going with the Kleeman headers...to compliment my Eisenmann race exhaust. It will be quite loud but I think in the end it will give me a little ooomph. I'm undecided if I want to go with a Kleeman SS, or not, very expensive. $12,500 would be a nice downpayment on an 03 SL55. I might go that route and jst keep the 03CL the way it is. Also...sprint booster is a must!!!
As for my contribution to the thread, I thought I could help you out by posting a link with what I thought was the correct information. My subsequest request for information was a clear admitance of my confusion over the crank and rwhp. Your subsequent "*****ness", if you must, resulted in my responses. That being said, out of respect to the rest of the board member's I'll leave you to your late saturday nights stuck reading the forums (of which you've already told us your "long" history about) and posting your resume on them in hopes other's will simpathize with your position.
Just a last thought tho, maybe, just maybe, if you spent a little more time preparing for trial, writing motions and possbly even some writs most of your clients wouldn't be on parole or doing life in prison. You may also want to stop taking them bad plea deals and have the ***** to help your clients go to trial every now and then.. You do know that the prosecution often makes plea offers based on the attorney's reputation and not solely on the merrits of their case. If they believe the attorney is a burnout and won't fight, they'll give a ****tier offer - like say life in jail, etc... As for me, no matter how guilty or not guilty my clients may be, I don't have many of my clients going to jail, not to mention prison. I'm sure you know the difference right? (Enjoy doing your Wikipedia and Google search on that.)

Both of you have taken a very "information packed" thread, which includes insight from a very knowledgable member(Vadim), and ***** all over it. If you have this much angst and anger for each other...PM one another, or better yet, start a new thread under OFF TOPIC!!!

Vadim, if you are still reading/reviewing this thread...what are the pluses/minuses of the Quaife diff, headers, Eisenmann exhaust, and BMC filters on a stock 03 CL500? Any noticeable gains?

and i feel your pain, but 12k is a BIG waste if you ask me just to get our cl's to do something great. that money could just as well be put towards a 55 like you said.
is their any Pully that would fit onto our cars from another setup?
ALi
I asked my friend at Kleeman about pulley's and he said of course I could get them but they wouldn't make that much of a difference to our cars, at least not a noticeable one. These cars are so big and heavy and at such a performance disadvantage compared with 55's and 65's that it would take a lot of money and upgrades to make a difference. Gonna snap a pic of the new wheels today and post. How bout you get a sound clip of the Renn exhaust? I know it's cold and Sunday...but get off your @ss and away from the computer and just do it.
PMing isn't going to work because I already know that this clown is just going to continue writing until he fills up my inbox. Clearly, he's upset at my profession because he might have been prosecuted to the fullest extent for something he didn't do.
What would you have done if an idiot who comes to your thread, craps all over it and refuses to leave when he's told to? If ignoring him is the answer, then that's exactly what I'll do from now on.
deviil:
This is the last time I am asking you to leave. You were the one too lazy and too stupid to do a simple search to begin with and you have the audacity to preach me on how to work hard? You'd better not be a lawyer because I wouldn't be able to imagine how you would've passed the bar if you know only how to bicker like a grandma and don't even bother with a simple search and spell check. If "wanna clue me in on the difference?" and "so was that google or wikipedia?" are the ways your parents taught you how to politely request the information and express gratitude upon receipt of it, then I rest my case. No one here is your secretary or 411.
Mind you, bad pleas result from defense attorneys with your attitude: Not conceding to points where you should have and holding on grounds that you shouldn't have. If you act like this in the system, then you'll know what I mean. From now on, just leave my thread. You don't see me acting like an *** in your thread, do you?
Jay:
I am not sure how much performance gain can headers achieve for N/A cars. On BMW boards, it's a popular belief that headers do not yield much hp gain and it's one of the most expensive mods. in terms of increased hp/money spent. Perhaps things are different with Mercedes?
Differentials may help but as far as I know, changing rear differentials may provide faster take off speed but will ultimately hurt the car's top end performance. I don't have enough statistic on this but higher diff. ratios may also put more strain on the engine, as it has to rev higher more frequently. Hence, I was hoping that a supercharger will give more performance without compromising the car's top end performance.
goliath:
I understand that $12k is a lot of money. But nowadays it's also difficult to find a used CL55 or 600 that comes with Starkmark warranty, plus brand new ABC pump, suspension, engine/transmission mounts, A/C compressor, other vulnerable CL components, etc. for a good price. If you take all these items in consideration, then I'll definitely end up spending more than $20k even if I have to trade in my CL. A SC on a well maintained CL500 is definitely a cheaper option.
Again, I am not sure how pulleys are going to affect Mercedes. One major BMW tuner (I'll refrain from disclosing his name) dislikes pulley because he believes using it may upset the harmonic balancer and ultimately, lead to the engine's demise. However, I've seen plenty of people who use pulleys on their BMWs without problems. Companies such as Evo Sport, Evo Tech, Rogue Engineering, etc. are all selling them for BMWs. As long as you be careful as to whether you're buying a crank pulley or accessory pullies and know their effects, you should be okay. Crank pulley usually gives more hp/tq installed but changing out the crank is more risky.
Other than FI upgrade, based on my experience with N/A BMWs, items such as headers, pulleys, intake, exhaust, ECU softwares give the best yields only if you "butt-dyno" the car. In other words, the psychological satisfaction may be there and the car may sound wonderful and breathe easier, but when you see the real numbers, there will be some disappointments.
I am somewhat excited about the new plugs and 55 kompressor airbox, and will definitely post results here when I do this upgrade.

Baby - i guess, but wont doing that void the warranty? or at least parts of it like the motor? would it NOT be wise to just...... BUY a 55 motor?
ALi
If I were you, I'd wait until the warranty expires and depending upon the condition of my car, decide if I want to keep/mod it or sell it before problems start to occur.
There's a thread here (I believe it's under CL55 v. CL600, which is faster?) that discusses whether the dealership or Renntech will honor the factory warranty if something breaks. I don't think I would have the expertise or nerve to test this theory myself.
I am not sure how much a 55 motor would cost but from the maintenance perspective, I think it may be easier to slap a brand new supercharger on a well-maintained CL500 engine than buying a used CL55 motor that might or might not have been abused.

On the headers you can expect about 12-15 RWHP, right now Kleemann is the only source. We are working on 55 Kompressot ones that might fit 500s as well. I will have a better idea on fitment in about a month.
Exhaust - in my experience aftermarket catbacks have not make any power gains. Typically, they make car louder.
Filters - BMC or K&N are worth about 5HP and easy to install, Definitely will recommend them.
I am working on Power Packages for all 3-valve MB motors, so stay tune, I will post updates shortly.
