CL500 problem with the cd-box
Hi 
I have a problem with the CD-box in the trunk, it will not get up when I push the button and the car says that there is no cd's.
Another problem is that the sound from the speakers only come in the right side.
Can I do something to solve the problems or must it go to a shop?
Its a Cl500 2000.

This sounds kinda ghetto but seriously if you take ur fingers and tap the magazine a few times (pretty hard) down into the changer, then press the button, it will usually work. This frees it up. Then it should see the magazine and cds too.

Saddly the CD in the early CL is a weak link. It is after all 8 years old at this point. Mine did exactly the same thing. It will only get worse. And if you commit the ultimate sin of playing a home made CD. It just makes things even worse. You have 2 alternatives. 1 Replace it with the unit thats in it. 2 Replace it with the later model. I will provide both the part numbers later on when I get to work. You can get both on E-Bay. A new unit at the dealer is like $ 300 +. This is easily a DIY type of repair.
