Brakes

I changed my brakes and rodors about 4 months ago (3,000 miles). And now my brakes squeek almost all the time, but when I wash my car that noice stops for a while and then it starts again. Whats cuasing that? The rims(Lorenzo they dont have much open space, they are all solid with some small holes in them) or something else? Does anyone have the same problem as me?

hi, did you apply anti seize grease to the rear of each pad , in the UK we call it copper grease, this stops all that noise. even if you did i would take them out a clean um up and re-apply.

You didn't say the brand you installed, but I think it pays to stay with OEM parts.

Big and Heavy 03 CL
Hey, I have the exact same problem...even with the brake grease. The residue from the brake pad just creates dust that causes squealing. The best thing to do is get the car warmed up a little, take it to about 55 and do some heavy braking without engaging ABS. The heat from the friction tends to dissipate the dust. It works on mine and the squealing stops! I have considering ceramic pads but I have heard that the squealing is worse.

AKIBONO EURO pads are sweet. Near dustless no squeal... in fact LESS than stock
