I don't activate the ABC "Sport" mode, or does that not make much difference since ABC is in use even when the car is not in Sport mode. It's an '02 CL600.

As far as I know, you are correct, it does not make much difference, the usual problems will still occur. The pump, valves, etc. are always in use, regardless of the setting -

The best thing you can do is have the system serviced regularly. Flushing out the fluids, and replacing any filters...

The high pressure ABC distribution hose was recently replaced under warranty on my 2003 CL500. The mesh width of the new filter was "3" microns instead of "10" microns in the original filter. The revised 3 micron filter entered series production as of October, 2005. Check with the MB parts dept. for specific applications. Part: 003-184-61-01. List price-$42.

I have used ABC sport 98% of the time since '03 and it has been flawless. It makes no difference.

my german mechanic said it doesn't matter. Save your cash for busted hoses and shut it down soon thereafter so you don't burn the pump... blown 4 hoses
