About To Purchase 00 CL500, few Q's

I have an 03 SL500 and a 03 CLK500 and love them both, and now I'm getting a good deal on a 00 CL500 for 19,000 and it has 53,000 miles. Since I've done well over 10,000 dollars worth of repairs on each of my cars(both under warranty) I will be getting a this car with a warranty seeming as how I saw a bunch of threads on the ABC problems. Question I have is what is the difference in exterior and interior for the 03+ CL's. I probable will get the car to look like a newer model. Also is has anyone replaced that nasty looking navigation system with either an aftermarket or newer benz model navi's

The most obvious difference between a 00' and a 03' would be the navigation system screen and slightly revised center console as you mentioned.

There are also other minor differences such as:
1. Turn signals on the exterior mirror housing: 03'+ units are clearer
2. Taillights: 03+ units have 4 white strips as opposed to 2 thick strips
3. I believe the 03+ models have the 7-speed transmission instead of 5
4. The front bumper on both standard/AMG versions are slightly different
5. The headlights are slightly revised and are clearer
6. 00' did not come with options such as push button start and Distronic

other than the transmission the differences are doable by just buying the newer parts no other modfication needed right? im going to get the amg bumpers and skirts. Is there a difference between 03 and say 05 or 06

Most of the differences can be done if you like.

However, the center console/navigation and the headlights will be expensive and may not be cost worthy depending on how badly you want them.

I believe the 03+ AMG bumper/skirts are all the same.
