REMOVE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT?
Hey everyone,
I want to get my third brake light tinted and am having trouble removing it. Can anyone please inform me on how to remove it? Thank you for all the help in advance!!!

Hi,
The 3rd brake light is a pain in the *** to remove. I tinted my tails and had to remove the inner insulation on the trunk lid. After that I had to take a thin screwdriver and push clips out of place from the inside of the 3rd brake light. I don't suggest doing this. It's almost impossible not to break a clip they are so fragile. Even after you break, I mean loosen the clips, the 3rd light is still a pain to remove it's wedged in there pretty good, most likely to keep water out. I ended up chipping part of the 3rd BL and had to fix it with super glue. It came out nice after it was tinted but if you can somehow mask it off you'd save yourself a headache. Or have an aftermarket shop take it out, or MB take it out, but who knows what they charge. At least if they break it, they will pay for a new one.
