Buying a 2000 CL500
Hi Everyone,
I'm trying to move over to the mercedes world and i need some help. I'm not trying to spend TOO much money & i found a pretty crazy deal on a 2000 CL which is my dream car (that body). The car is clean, i drove it and it seems good, the problem is that it has 126k. I've never driven a car with that many miles so I'm not sure how i feel about spending the money. Do you guys think its a big deal or should i get the car and not worry about it?

Miles equals maintainence.
If you are serious make an appointment to have a pre purchase inspection done at a dealership near you. They can tell you the repair history of what was done and recorded.
Miles are not low but if it was maintained, the carfax and the PPI from the dealership look good than good luck.

If you can, get a vehicle master history file for the car. Only MB dealers have this. It should provide you with the 'repair' history of the car. This is pretty important in knowing if all the known defects, technical bulletins, and recalls have been done already. If so, and the carfax looks clean go for it.

A Mercedes obviously!
Do yourself a favour and spend more money to get a newer one with less miles. If you can't afford to do that you probably can't afford the repairs on this specific vehicle.
The early W220s and W215s are notoriously problematic and costly, as the son and driver of someone who owned one of these vehicles. The W220 and W215 have dropped so much in value that getting a much better vehicle doesn't necessarily mean spending a ton of extra cash.
