misfiring issues

hey everyone i been driving my cl600 with the cel on for a lil while now the car was runnin on 6 cylinders and sometime will run on all 12 cylinders...the code that was comin up was that 7-12 cylinders were not firing so i replaced the coil pack on the driver side...still comin up 7-12 was still misfiring my tech told me that i have to replace the ignotion control unit..$800 i just ordered it so i guess we'll see what happens...has anyone experienced this b4??

mine has the CEL on too, getting cylinder misfire codes like crazy. replacing coils soon.

hey fellas it turned out that i also needed a ignition control module.....wooooow the torque on this car is unbelievable!!!!! so from my experience if u going 2 need a coil pack most likely ur going 2 need a ignition control module!!!

Damn I popped a CEL the other day on my 500. Hoping it was nothing it drove fine after a quick misfire at a stoplight.

Man, that misfire can be a real headache. I don't know if you have already been to the shop, but from my experience it can be the spark plugs, coil pack, and/or other emissions related problem. Get it checked asap otherwise you'll notice a huge difference in gas economy, power, et cetera. Good luck.

mercedes benz cl 600
I'm having the same problems with differnet misfire codes. I've replaced the plugs however, still getting codes and after pulling the new plus, looks like they are not firing.

I'm still not sure how the cylinders are numbered, I've posted several ? to that but no one has answered? If you know let me know. I'm looking for a manual for 1999 cl600 if you have any thoughts let me know. From what I'm reading it could be an O2 sensor, about $60 so I think I may start there unless someone tells me something different? At this point I'm only getting PO308 PO309 codes?

It probably the gas boiling in the fuel rail due to the new gas regulations that require ethanol (up to 10%) being added. You have to incread the pressure from your fuel pump by way of the fuel pump modulator. you may have to replace both. I did. Now all is good. The newer cars can adjust to the new gas
