2001 CL500 (UK)
Had the car a few months and I've just been hit with a couple of major problems:
1) Engine often cuts out without warning, which is very scary when you're doing 80 mph on the motorway. Starts fine and runs fine but just cuts when it feels like it.
2) The electrics have started to cut out and I mean every elctrical item in the cabin and the lights but the engine still runs fine. No instruments, climate, stereo, seats, wipers, lights etc.....everything goes dead and stays dead but I can still switch the engine off and start it again. Seems to take a few hours before it resets itself and everything then works fine.
I love the car but it's my first Merc in ages and the most complex.
It's booked in with a specialist but not for a few weeks, so any pointers would be much appreciated.
