SWIRLS MARKS in PAINT - Obsidian Black vs. Black

Has anyone noticed that flat black shows more swirls than the obsidian (metallic) black, but that flat black is deeper and reflects light more than the metallic? For those in the know, is this the case?

[At least that's what both the dealer and detailers have said is the case with these paints.]

I don't think flat is the term you're looking for...

But yes, metallic black has always looked to me like poorly cared for pure black!

Silver... I love black cars, but Seattle is just too stressful of an environment to have your daily driver painted black.

I guess the reason the obsidian metallic black looking always dirty, as you say, is the reason why most people's choice is just plain black, right?
