CL500 & Ipod Plug in the glove compartment?

CL500 & Ipod Plug in the glove compartment?
Hi,
When i purchased my CL500 i noticed that the previous owner had something hooked up to an auxiliary input located in my glove compartment(it looks like a headphone input or something). I was just wondering if this could be used to play my ipod? I really hate the FM transmitters and Disc Changers. Also there's no button for it on my screen...what to do.
Also how does your CL drive in the snow? This week I had the worst experience with this car and snow.

4 winter tires, plus at least 100 lbs. extra weight in the trunk - and very sensitive right foot on the gas pedal - are requirenents in ice and snow......

OK basically it was an auxiliary input. in order for you to use it you have to press the svc button then i think the "more" option then u will see the auxiliary option then your set. I use my i phone to play music and take calls. And when i take the calls everything runs through the speakers so I'm hands free.
