Has anybody with a CL had the rear window regulator fail? I just had one Friday with a rear window that wouldn't go up, so I removed the interior quarter panel trim, and sure enough the regulator cable was bound up in the mechanism. Nobody else in the shop has heard of this, and the parts department said this is the first rear regulator they've ever ordered. This particular CL was an early production 2000 model with 47,000 miles on it. What surprises me is that the regulator appears to be the same style as the rear window regulators is the 210 E-Class, which fail all the time.
