I watched "Night at the Museum" on my 2004 CL600 shortly after I bought it in December of 2007. Now I can't figure out how I did it as the car's software seems to prevent any viewing of video on the screen, no matter what I do, Key in, key out, park, neutral. Does anyone know how to replicate what I did before to view a movie from the center screen?

have you still got the drivers manual as it could be in there?
could it be something silly like just put the DVD in it sets to view

I do have the original manual and it says zip about this subject...

As I was looking in to it "DVD movies on the center console screen"
It is imposible to view dvd on our screens. The dvd player in the concole
is only for data playback ( music files )
European models had something different and there was a way of reprograming
them and view dvd movies not our US models.
If you watched movie on yours it must be reprogramed european unit.

There is another way ----- there is a company that will mod your unit so you can hook
external dvd player and you can view the movie on the console screen.
I don't think they make the internal / existing dvd player to work.

Well, another thing that makes me go hmmmmm. It worked one time. It can't be replicated and I'm pretty sure it's a standard issue US CL600 without mods... I know I wasn't dreaming, my brother was with me when it happened and Ben Stiller was funny as ever....

You can have a US model car that had a Euro COMAND unit swapped in.

If you arent the first owner, you dont know what the original owner(s) did. They may have indeed swapped in a Euro unit for DVD capability.
