CL500 (W215)
MAP sensor
Hi All,
My CL500 (W215) is suffering from the following;
Uneven idle, lack of performance, poor fuel consumption, drop in revs at 4K RPM.
The MIL is off and there are no fault codes.
A diagnostic trace shows no output from the MAP sensor.
Where is this fitted? I've had a look on the inlet manifold and cant easilly see one. Is this function carried out by the MAF??
Regards
Les J

Hello,
the Mass Air Flow is behind the air filters.

Here is a picture of it.
It's about 20 mn to change it.
It costs 75 $ on eBay (for a Bosch).

Hi Alain,
Thanks for a reply, I've changed the MAF.
But need to know if the CL500 has a MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sometimes called a boost sensor and where it is located.

His mama. Traded y0 mama in because she was squeaking.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the CL500 isn't force inducted, right? Or am I wrong?
I thought it didn't have a supercharger like say, the CL55?
Either way, here's a picture showing a pressure sensor on a 500. Don't know if it's what you're looking for, though.

Thats exactly what I'm looking for, however my W215 is slightly different as the MAF points straight down.
Will check below the MAF.
Many thanks
A MAP sensor isn't just used on forced induction engines. It detects the drop in vacuum in the inlet manifold as you accelerate and allows the ECU to react quicker to enrichen the fuel etc.
