please helo... :/ I think misfire bug has bit my car...

Ok I have an 02 CL600 with 55K mles.. Well toda, while driving home my check engine light came on.. it blinked for some time, then went solid, then blinked again, went solid, etc.

I pulled up the codes with a LAUNCH system and here is what I come up with...

"Total codes: 008

Code001:
P2050 Misfiring, damages TWC (P0300) fault indicator lamp on

Code 002:
P2051 Misfiring of cylinder 1, damages TWC (P0301) fault indicator lamp on

Code 003:
P2053 Misfiring of cylinder 4, damages TWC (P0304) fault indicator lamp on

Code 004:
P2055 Misfiring of cylinder 6, damages TWC (P0306) fault indicator lamp on

Code 005:
P2043 Misfiring (P0300) fault indicator lamp on

Code 006:
P2044 Misfiring of cylinder 1 (P0301) fault indicator lamp on

Code 007:
P2046 Misfiring of cylinder 4 (P0304) fault indicator lamp on

Code 008:
P2048 Misfiring of cylinder 6 (P0306) fault indicator lamp on

.. needless to say, I know that this has something to do with coilpacks/sparkplugs, but I am not familiar with MB, especially these V12 engines. Can anyone advise? tell me what is wrong? what do I need to fix it?

Thanks in advance,
Paul

boy oh boy, you need someone who can diagnose these code. I had missfiring issues once. The first thing you may try is changing the spark plugs. while you have the coil packs off you can look at the part number and check with MB to see if you have the updated parts. The MB diagnosis "tree" states that if the part numbers are XXXX then change to the new part number. Then you can look into the areas the plugs go into and see if it looks bad, like oil leaking in. Look at the condition of your plugs as well. My problem was the gas igniting in the fuel rail. Due to the "up to 10% ethinol" that is now added to the gas in the USA. They have to increase the pressure in the fuel lines. Older fuel pumps and fuel pump modulators are unable to increase to the needed pressure. I had to change my pump and modulator. My coils were the newer part number. Everything is fine now.

First of all please pardon my spelling errors in the title and the first post. It makes it a little harder when youre posting from ipod and the stupid t9 kicks in all the time

Thanks for response Austinite, So it seems I still might be on safe ground and this might be as simple as spark plugs... I am just terrified I am going to have to spend the INSANE money to get these stupid coil packs replaced.
