engine oil sensor

hi, when i check my engine oil level the computer always says either 1, or 1 1/2 quarts low. i just had the oil changed at the dealer and also checked it with a manual dip stick and it appears full. is there a way to reprogram the sensor? is this normal? suggestions. when i bought the car 1 year ago the sensor would show full and that's the level i use when checking with the dipstick. now it's always 1, or 1 1/2 quarts low. the dealer used 9 1/2 quarts to fill. any help would be appreciated
thanks

Make sure that you are parked on a flat level surface when checking oil level. Otherwise you will get a bad reading from the sensor.

dealer added 1/2 quart and now the sensor says oil level okay. strange it said 1 1/2 quarts low and a 1/2 quart fixed it. also was told the cl600 takes 9 1/2 quarts. eveidentally it takes 10 quarts. any feedback on quantity of oil required for a oil and filter change?
