XM for 2001 CL600

I have just acquired a near new low mileage (30k) 600 and hard wired the Garmin in rather than use the existing, (limited) navigation -that was fairly easy....which got me thinking--has anyone installed an XM unit?--I have an older one from my roadster..the kind with the small metal box you insert in the antenna feed to the radio-not the current wireless models..speaking of which, where is the radio? I get the whole Command Center/remote unit thing...but talk about over-built. Many thanks..?Jim

The COMAND actually is the radio. Pull the wood cluster, then you'll see the antenna plug on the back where you can attach the XM unit.

How to remove COMAND and console wood:

thank you...I suspect great caution with that "wood" bit--it looks vulnerable at the bend. Jim
