CL600 & GAS & PARTS CONCERNS

HI,

I AM INTERESTED IN PURCHASING A CL600. I CURRENTLY HAVE A RANGE ROVER AND GAS IS A KILLER. 100 FOR PREIUM. SO I JUST WANT TO KNOW HOW MUCH IS IT TO FILL UP A CL600? I LOOKED UP THE MILES PER GALLON AND ITS ABOUT THE SAME AS A CL500. ALSO THE PARTS? IS IT ABOUT THE SAME AS A CL500 OR MORE? PLEASE LET ME KNOW?? BUT HOW CAN THAT BE IF ITS A V-12 ENGINE? PLEASE LET ME KNOW THANKS

If you are worried about the cost of fuel, you should not be looking at a CL. The fuel is the least expensive piece of ownership for a CL.

You can't seriously expect to get good gas mileage with a V12 500hp car. My CL500 V8 only gets 15 mpg in comfort mode (starting off in 2nd gear).

E53 Wagon, Model 3, Miata, etc, etc
highways about 17mpg~
city about 15mpg~

Parts, typical repair in the thousands minimum...

As above, if you worry about money spending on CL, don't think about it.
It's cheap now, but it is still a $100,000+ car

I'm getting 17.9 per tank avg. A lot less when romping on the gas. It's my daily driver in the summer and averages me about $1000 in maint each year. Some years more than others depending on scheduled maint and things that go wrong. I have no MB dealership close so I use a local mech that has the right equipemnt and knows what they are doing. This does take the car off the road for a while because it takes him time to get to my car.

If you ask what the gas mileage is this is not the car for you! As for repairs they are very expensive. It is a great car though!

You drive one of the least reliable cars made. The CL isn't much better, but it is better.

There's a difference in gas mileage between the V12 turbo (2003 and up) and naturally aspirated (2002 and earlier).

Yes the repairs are exorbitant. Gas will be the least of your concerns. The V12 has about 4 times the amount of parts added to the already overly engineered beauty. I love mine dearly but they are high maintenance. Everytime you think you've repaired everything, you will be surprised. I am by far the the most frequent customer at my dealership. They know me not only by name and face but by voice on the phone.

I average 20.9 MPG street driving (not Track) in my AMG V8 since 40k miles. I kid you not.
