Exhaust was loud now not so loud
Hi board, I just bought a 2003 cl 55, when I first test drove the car I noticed that the exhaust was super loud. The dealership told me they had to put a cap back on for the car to pass inspection. After they put this cap back on the car doesnt sound as loud. I want the car to sound the way it did before. Does anybody know where this cap is and if I can take it off myself, Sorry to sound like a newbi but the help is appricated.

they might have said "cat" ... if so, they meant the catalytic converters, which people sometimes remove for performance gains. They also make the cars much louder but they are "illegal" to remove. Otherwise they would have put factory mufflers back on.
