Hi.. have a 2001 cl 500, all of a sudden the trunk release will not work with the remote,or the release switch inside the car,have to manually lift up against strong resistance to open and it wants to come down and close ,will not stay open on its own ?? any ideas on the problem ? thanx

I don't know how to fix it but there are two pumps that control your trunk lid. One pump opens and closes the trunk lid, the other pump keeps the trunk lid level with the rest of the car (it is kindda suck the trunk lid down when it is closed).

your exactly right ,thats how it is ,appreciate the info, if anyone knows how i could disconect those pumps i could just open and close manually ...thanx again

thanx again for thr reply, kinda new to this forum ,how do i find the posts that refer to fuses or which one to disable the trunk lid pumps anyone have any ideas, much appreciated
