Very strange sound from under the dash

Hi all

I have a 2000 CL600. When the car warm, I get a strange noise coming from the left underside of the dash. It has a "Darth Vader" sound to it, almosy a soft "Shhhhhh" sound. The sound can be reproduced. When I bring the car to a standstill, the noise will stop. As soon as I touch the gas, the sound starts again. The sound is also sensetive to the steering wheel. Short sudden movements from left to right can activate the sound. Another way to imagine the sound is almost like a static noise through a speaker. I am at a lost end on this one. The car is a right-hand drive, so to me the noise is coming from the passanger side under the dash. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

You ever find out if Darth Vader is living in your dash or what causes the sound?

I have not yet found the cause. I have taken the interior apart. It seems as if there is a breather pipe blowing air. When I turn the steering wheel, the noise is clear outside the car. It might have something to do with the steering rack.

Check the power steering fluid. If it is low, you will know there is a leak.
