I'd advise people to do this same thing, look up companies and see about complaints.

At the same time, this is a very inaccurate way to rate a warranty company. Some people (on the linked site and others) are complaining about US Fidelis or Fidelity Automotive Solutions, totally different companies. Some people are actually complaining about their dealer, who misled them on what was covered. Others are complaining that things that are not covered, are not covered, which is silly since the contract stated they were not covered repairs. Still others are getting ripped off by their repair shop and upset that Fidelity will not approve 3x book rate on a job. And some have legitimate complaints; no company is perfect of course.

The point is, it's easy to think 'ohmygod, they suck!' when you do a search and find 100 complaints. But even if all 100 were legitimate disputes, that still tells you nothing. Why? Because you get that 100 number in a vacuum with no other relevant information. Is 100 complaints good or bad? The only way to know is to know the complaint ratio, the number of complaints vs. the number of warranties sold.

Suppose I told you that Fidelity sells about 2500 warranties per year. You search and find 100 recent complaints. Well I'd agree something is very wrong, that's too high a complaint ratio.

The truth is that Fidelity sell over TWENTY THOUSAND WARRANTIES PER MONTH! Now how do those 100 complaints look? Pretty tiny overall.

And that is the reality......look all you want, weed out the ones that are incorrect, inaccurate, or nonsensical, and then take the ones that sound legit. Then figure the actual number is 5-10 times that amount because not everyone complains on the internet, and then divide that number into 240,000 warranties per year. That's the complaint ratio for Fidelity.

Trust me when I tell you they are the best in the USA. In fact, if you go into an Audi dealer, buy a new R8 V10 spyder, and get an Audi Pure Platinum extended warranty good at any Audi dealer nationwide, guess what you are getting? Fidelity, with the brochure and contract re-branded for Audi.

Contact MBWorld user Vabene7. He got his 2005 S600 and the Fidelity Platinum warranty from me.

Bruce ,
You have been recommended by several fellow members , so no question there . The only thing that threw me off was that I was reading the platinum plan coverage EXCLUSIONS " from their website , and among the many items they list as excluded are the " shock absorbers " !! needless to say , the CL600 has rather expensive shocks !!

Ahh, there's the catch. The CL600 does not have shock absorbers. It has ABC struts. The parts are not called shock absorbers, nor do they perform an actual shock absorption action.

The ABC (and Airmatic in Airmatic equipped cars) struts ARE covered in any of the exclusionary warranties I sell.

For future reference, if you do need an ABC strut replaced, get one from www.arnottindustries.com. I use them all the time. They cost $599 vs. $1500+ from an MB dealer, and come with a lifetime warranty. So if one goes out again even AFTER your extended warranty has expired, you only have to pay for labor to remove and reinstall it, as Arnott will provide the replacement strut free of charge.

They were great. Unfortunately someone there woke up one day and realized they were getting killed with MB claims, so they stopped underwriting all MB's.

Bruce, you never got back to me regarding my CL65 that you originally approched me for warranty. You were supposed to get the full service history for me. I don't know if you forgot or just couldn't get the info.

That's strange. Was it via PM or email? I don't recall seeing the email, but I get a ton and sometimes I miss one or delete by accident.

Can you re-send to me at brucem105@comcast.net? I was at my Benz dealer 6 times this week, it would not be a big deal to get a VMI!

I remember you telling me my cl600 is not covered under any of the aftermarket warranty companies you sell due to the high mileage and v12. Any other suggestions?

Furthermore, am i the only cl600 owner with 81k miles. Im wondering if anyone else is having this same delima?

I wish I had an option for you, but I don't. Fidelity might do it at the lower coverage levels, but not ABC coverage, and missing a lot of other stuff too.

And the price will give you a nosebleed.

Bruce, I'm also interested in a Fidelity Platinum contract for an '05 CL65 (40k miles); am located in southern California. Are you able to quote and sell this?

You would need to double that amount on a CL.

This is terrible advice. This is not a Civic Si. You think $300 bucks a month will take care of potential problems on a 600?

A couple of ABC problems, a coil pack, and dynamic seat issue are $4500 by themselves. Good luck with that rainy day fund....it's a nice idea, but it's not designed to deal with a typhoon of problems.

You have to find a good warranty company, with a good plan, at the best price you can.

You're going to have a very difficult time with an 02 CL combined with over 100K miles. I don't have anything, sorry!

as Bruce said , it will be very difficult to get insurance for that year/model and specially mileage ... if anyone can do it it would have been Bruce ... sorry !
Be very careful with anyone else telling you they can get a warranty ...instead I would evaluate owing the car vs selling it
