2006 CL500 SIRIUS ADDITION
when i acquired this coupe, i didn't think that i would care about having satellite radio. so, it was an avoided option.
then i acquired a 2008 porsche cayenne turbo that had this option[xm]. though there is way more there than i would ever listen to, i have become addicted to real jazz and the all time met opera broadcasts.
i year ago, i acquired a 2006 cl55 from its original owner. it had the sirius satellite radio. once again, i like having it.
so, now i would like to retrofit a satellite receiver to the cl500. i have learned that once upon a time, m-b offered a rather reasonably priced kit for this after o.e. install addition. but, within the last year or two, m-b has discontinued the reasonably priced kit. now, the satellite radio feature can be added, but only by acquiring individual components, a few of which are in limited supply and available only from german inventory.
and the cost of doing it this way is pricey.
i don't want to add a siriusxm kit. i want this cl500 to look and function as if this was an o.e. install.
any thoughts?

yes, that cost is about accurate.
two years ago, i think the kit was $900.
but, now that it has to be assembled from parts, $2,200.
so, any ideas as to how i might find that kit? or these parts for significantly less?
