Shifter stuck in park, Has anyone fixed it?Do I need to remove center console to fix?

Yo! Same problem - literally trying to deal with this right now. Didn't anticipate the centre-console wouldn't come out with the shifter stuck in Park.

Did you find a workaround?

So, I hit it with a hammer - gently - and it moved.

Have taken it apart and removed the gate, which is not broken. Must be a different fault - but it's not going back in - stupid bloody thing - if I encounter kids and pets, I'll use the handbrake!
