The problem isn't the motor. Replacing the aluminum block isn't going to fix anything (well, it will give you the chance to fix the oil cooler leak, which is a design flaw). You have electrical issues, which are unrelated to the hunk of metal called the engine. Was this a salvage title car (i.e. flood)? It sounds like you have a short or surging component somewhere in the system.
Find the real problem and get it fixed, the Coil Packs are not this issue, something is causing them to go bad.

hey man it's a cool car, definitely unique. I got 2 things to say-
1- you coulda found a safer place for the smoke show than on a residential street with cars parked on both sides
