Had the resonators removed...

Bummer!

I thought this was going to make a sound difference! the tech started the car after the center resonators were removed and I didn't hear a TINY BIT of difference! Still as quiet as the ocean...

I guess next step is removing the mufflers and having it essentially straight piped! with some dual tips.... Due to AMG tips costing probably 1/10th my car

I think I'll go with these:

What do you guys think?

btw... here is my car!

Hi all,

So I have gone a step further and replaced the stock big box mufflers with some magnaflow glasspacks 4" rounds.

I like the sound, just wish it was louder. I am surprised - even with the car essentially straight piped (only these 2 small glasspacks) it is still super super quiet.

Also, one question - Is there some sort of a valve in our exhaust that opens and closes as you push on the accelerator pedal? I am hearing like a soft popping sound when I press down the accelerator (about an inch into the ground) after which the exhaust note changes.

Thanks for advice

Here's my 2003 CL600 with the mufflers removed. I haven't driven it for a couple of weeks. Hence the exhaust smoke. It seems to have more power as its not restricted.
