CL600 Production Numbers

I've read a couple of posts with CL55 owners slugging it out with CL600 owners on with car is better, faster or rarer. On the latter, there seemed to be no information available for the CL600. I took a gander on the web and found CL600 production numbers in the press kit on the Daimler corporate website. If this has been addressed in a previous thread that I missed, my apologies. I thought it was interesting.

These are gross W215 production numbers by production year for ALL markets, NOT just for North America.

CL500 production 1998-2006: 32,224
CL600 production 2000-2005: 2,255
CL55 AMG production 1999-2005: 6,380
CL63 AMG production 2001-2002: 6,348
CL65 AMG production 2003-2005: 777

The AMG numbers for models destined for North America are broken down by model year here (source: http://www.topgearage.com/?p=260):

CL 55 AMG:
2001 303
2002 607
2003 1379
2004 611
2005 486
2006 182

CL 65 AMG
2005 142
2006 52

It would appear as if the W215 CL63 AMG would be the rarest in North America and the CL65 would be the rarest of worldwide W215 models.

I would further assert that the CL600 is indeed rarer than the CL55 AMG worldwide, and most certainly in North America.

I hope this horse is now sufficiently bludgeoned.

Unfortunately, I have not come across Non-AMG gross W215 production numbers at that level of detail.

Based on the data provided and keeping in mind these are production years, not model years, we can extrapolate that W215 production began in 1998 with the first CL500s that were destined for the Geneva Auto Show in 1999. CL55 production followed in 1999 with the "F1 Limited Edition", and the first CL600s were produced in 2000.

If you manage to find production detail by year, let me know. I’d be interested in seeing the numbers as well.
