Just an Idea about Oil Levels and Misfires

Been having the usual issues with misfiring, harnesses, codes, etc. I let the engine oil go to 2 liters low by the read out and the engine is running like a champ although CEL is lit. My thouight is this, what if the engine oil level sensor is mis-calibrated and we are over-filling? Engine certainly pumps enough oil out of every pour when it is full and we have the additional repairs to the decomp oil pump system, wiring harness full of oil, and the blown oil coolers. All possibly because the oil level sensor is giving a low reading when the oil level is actually OK. When we fill, we are over-filling and all these oil-related issues begin to pop up. Either that, or the engine oil galleys simply cannot handle a full load of oil. I put a liter in today and will check it out tomorrow to see if it loads up the plugs again and begins to misfire.

One way to chek is to fill till engine says full, then drain and measure it. Possibly theoil pan is smaller than the computer believes it is.
